Just a quick update
Well, we're in. It's been almost 2 months and I'm loving it. It's just a quick walk to the train in the morning. At night after picking up Ms. D, I'm home in less than a minute. Now I get to hang out with my sister and not dread getting in the car to go home. I can relax the minute I get in.
The weather here has been pretty good lately so I've taken Ms. D out almost every day. Sometimes it's just to the backyard.
We've got a patch of dirt that eventually will be covered with a hot tub (just got the permit yesterday!). Ms. D loves playing right there, so if I don't have the toddler pool set up that's where she is. Messy little girl. :) She was so dirty that when I gave her a bath that night, I had to drain the water and fill it again. She left a ring around the tub that time! LOL
Unfortunately, I broke my leg in May.
It's been about a month now and the doc said I can start walking on it. YAY! Let me tell you, trying to deal with a 2 1/2 year old and NOT being able to walk was a trial. I did rent a knee walker instead of using crutches and it worked great. I was able to carry things at least and move around a lot better. I have to remember to get a picture of me on it before I return it. Ms. D is loving that I'm home a lot more now. It's going to be a hard adjustment when I do finally return to work, which fortunately isn't for another 3 weeks.

On the upswing though, I finally closed on my old apartment. It felt good to finally pay off the renovation bills and have money in the bank again. I wanted to pay off my car as well, but I'm not going to be able to do that. We did a lot of things in the backyard that were not planned for in my budgeting so that got my car money. I also need a lot of new electronics. Seems like anything with electrons doesn't like me anymore. LOL, a new DVD/VCR player, camera, TV and now my computer is going too. Ms. D made the decision for me on getting a new one, she took something sharp and scratched my monitor pretty badly.
I'm still going crazy looking for curtains, end tables for my living room, and a few other pieces (kitchen table!), that I need. I so loved the way I did my bedroom in the old place, that I recreated it here. I just rearranged the furniture a little. Now I need another nightstand and a table for the TV that I'm finally going to put in my room. I can't find any matching pieces to what I have now, so I'm going with a different style all together.
Hopefully it won't look too bad.

Ms. D's room is almost done. I just need to sew her curtains and put up her canopy. A new area rug would be nice in there as well. I love the way it looks. It took all day to paint it this way but it looks great! That's her and my sister taking a nap together.
Got to go get breakfast together.
