It's been a bit
We have a house!!! Yay! Closing should be next week. Yeah, short notice. Won't actually have a date until Monday and then closing should be Thursday or Friday, keep your fingers crossed it actually happens. Hopefully my BIL can get a moving company quickly. He does have one on "hold" but now it's the end/beginning of the month again.
I just ordered my first LIRR monthly pass. In a way, even though it's so much more expensive, I'm really looking forward to not dealing with the NYC subways anymore. A civilized commute (I hope) and a seat in both directions. Silly I know but sounds like heaven to me.
D is wonderful and getting so big. Right now she's on a Nemo craze. He's surpassing Elmo as her favorite. It's a bit of a tie between Nemo and Curious George though. I guess that's part of being 2. I'm doing her birthday party in George. Only having immediate family over. Maybe next year I can do a bigger party in the new house. She's finally trying to color within the lines. It's so cute to watch her try to control her hand so that she doesn't make such big sweeping scribbles. Need to think of toys for presents that will help with her fine motor control. She absolutely loves to fingerpaint too. I think she just likes the feel of the paint mushing between her fingers. LOL
Send good vibes that my apartment sells soon, please! I'm going to lower the price a bit again next week. Depending on how much my sister has after closing, I may need to take a home equity loan to cover the costs of renovation. Although I've rearranged how I want things done so it may not cost as much as I originally planned. I do want to get an island in the kitchen. I've always wanted one but never had a big enough room to do it. 14 x 11 is definitely big enough!
Started birthday/Christmas shopping last week as well. I've already got D a Mr. & Mrs. Potato Head and am planning on getting her a kitchen and table and chair set as well. Actually she's getting 2 table and chair sets, one for her playroom and one I'm going to put her iMac on. Yes a 2 year old is getting a computer. It's my old one I've saved in the attic for a few years. My sister brought home a ton of software from school that's age appropriate. I remember helping my nieces play these games when they were small.
Later.
